If you get the chance go see The Roosevelt Hotel. It sits
across the street and to the right (7000 Hollywood Blvd.) of Mann's.
It has a very subtle entrance so don't bolt by it. This building is
full of hand painted details and pure Hollywood history. I spent a
lot of time staring at the details in the ceiling panels and even up
and down the stairs. Also pop into the basement. There is a mirror
down there that use to sit in one of the hotel rooms. Marilyn Monroe,
apparently, spent time in front of it, staring at herself. Some say
it's haunted by her spirit, some say it's just an after effect (sort
of a time echo or spiritual signature), others just mumble 'poppy
cock'. It doesn't really matter. The area around the mirror is
spotless, quiet, and has a wonderful picture of the goddess of
sexuality herself, on the wall.
