Dr. Who - Babylon 5 - Addams Family - Elves and Fairy -

Darwin - Cricket - Space 1999 - Star Trek - Star Wars

Dr. Who

Our Dr. Who experiences included:

*The two of us met at Who Party 9 (1987) and quickly became inseparable.

*1987 Christina went to Brantford (Martin's home town at the time) for Hallowe'en and was greeted by a Dalek in the driveway.

*Christina's tracer (Gift from Martin to go with her costume), the first Tardis Console, the cybermat, Ace's Tapedeck (added in time for Ad Astra 9) and various little gadgets for 'The Doctor' came after Martin moved to Toronto.

*Worked along side Ed Charpentier (K-9's replicator) to form 'The Not The BBC Props Dept.' and traveled from convention to convention with a 'Dr. Who' replica museum.

*The Kandyman and the 'Fun Gun' for Colleen's Daisy K and Rani wrist controller were eventually added to the NTBBCPD collections.

*Christina helped Martin rebuild the Dalek before the group got to it and under Martin's guidance rebuilt him again.

*The group also took to Martin's instruction well in order to rebuild the Tardis console.

*Due to commitments in life they are no longer part of NTBBCPD

*The dalek... Well... Poor boy had a wall drop on him. Sheered his balls right off. OUCH!!

Babylon 5

*When Babylon 5 hit television we fell in love with the tall silent type.... Kosh as well as the mysterious Delenn.

*At Visions' masquerade we did a skit where the truth of Kosh is revealed as being Pinky and The Brain and at Toronto Trek we used Wakko and Yakko.

*Toronto Trek 10 had a huge B5 presence. The picture shows you 50% of the Bab 5 entries there.

* AT Costumecon we did a skit that ended with Kosh wearing a sign saying "If This Encounter Suit's A Rockin' Don't Come A Knockin"

*No Bab 5Fan is complete without wearing a Psi Cop outfit at least once. ^_~

Addams Family

*When we were asked to face paint for the Bat exhibit at the Science Centre on Hallowe'en we felt appropriate characters were needed. Morticia and Gomez were just the thing. We used the movie as a basis.

Elves and Fairy

Elves: Hallowe'en quick fix.

*We completed our effect by carrying only coinage.

Fairy: Custom done character for the Promotion of a children's book at a Toy Fair.

Darwin

*This foam dolphin was made for Toronto Trek when the convention thought Darwin should be on the guestlist.

*He was quite the hit.The only guest that was charity auctioned off at Toronto Trek.

Cricket

*This one was made for a fan of the movie. It brags a superbright LED at the end of its tiny needle tip, a high pitched laser sound, and little watch batteries hidden in the handle. The needle had to be carefully custom lathed as one wrong move and it would snap.

Space 1999

*A friend of ours was doing a Space 1999 parody play so he asked us to whip up some plain casted (he wanted to paint them) props. We never painted our two masters, completely but here they are.

Star Trek

*We started taking part in the Toronto Trek parody plays and found that this was a good outlet for our creative juices.

*We wanted more. Before we knew it TT was asking us to take care of their bridge

(including a complete redesign and rebuild), eventually asking us to build them a shuttle.

*To top it off, Paramount Home Video contacted us and offered us jobs as characters for promos, video release parties and the like. Birthday parties and barmitzvas followed.

*It was a successful time for our steps from hobby to career and we can thank the wonderful Ken Magerman from Paramount Home Video for giving us that little shove.

*Larning how to use a Klingon Bat'leth helped in life as well as career. Never mess with a woman with a weapon.

Star Wars

*Star Wars. The beginning of a saga. If you've never seen one of the movies you at least are familiar with the key characters. That's half the reason why it is so much fun to do them.

*Star Wars Characters (Boba Fett, Leia, Jedi, pun contest, Padme/Amidala & Qui-Gon) pictures.

*Note on Boba Fett: This costume was passed down to Martin by Yvonne Penney. The only original pieces of the costume that are left are the jumpsuit and the helmet (made by John D'Eall). Martin replaced the scope on the helmet with an operational one, the vambraces, the backpack, the chest armour and other armour pieces, as well as making a rifle.

*Star Wars Props (Pistols, sabers, close up on Padme's belt) pictures.

*Our R2D2 operational droid.
