A little report by: Christina Carr

This is just a big Hello and Huzzah to those who came out to Pirates 2 - Dead Man's Chest on July 7, 2006, at the Paramount Theatre in Vancouver.

What a wonderful evening we had with a ton of 'Arrrr...' a great variety of costumes and a mass collection of various local groups. See below and visit this active fans and, in many cases, hobby costumers. Friends from Act One Costumes also showed. With all the bruises and battering on some of their group we wondered if Looch (Jack) may have had some troubles on board before arriving. We are very impressed with Jeff who quickly put together a Davy Jones costume. With some alterations to the childrens' outfit from the Disney Store and some quick sewing he blew us all away.

Marina and Kiran successfully got the word out ahead of time. Even though the theatre confused us with one show time and two theatres on our tickets, they managed to keep things clear and the group gathered. Congratulations go to both lovely ladies. Susan arrived with VCON flyers and, along with Marina, no shortage of chocolate coins, eye patches and baby plastic swords. I think our eyes almost fell out of their sockets when we realised that Corey had also brought chocolate coins then a person from the theatre handed us another pile of chocolate coins. I do believe BIFF will be seeing chocolate coins for some time in the future.

As for the eye patches and swords.... I do believe a small group of us are definitely planning a party for the official talk like a pirate day (wink, wink.. with one eye of course). If that sounds like the kind of thing you would love to be part of then go ahead and drop me an email and say 'YAY' and we'll add you to our little growing mailing list.

We were also thrilled with the fact that much of the staff dressed up as well. At times we had to double check for an ID tag or some other denoting characteristic so that we didn't confused them with our own group. Good job.
